Horšovský Týn.

Report ARCHAEOLOGY 2017

The gardens around the chateau in Horšovský Týn have several hectares and the aim of the survey was not to search the entire area. The measurement was focused on the area around Loreta at the northern tip of the garden and was measured next to existing buildings at the chateau. The profiles were guided in two directions with large spacing. It was only a matter of verifying whether there could have been any buildings before. So we were looking for the foundations of walls, old cellars, various excavations, etc. Measured with antennas with a frequency of 150 MHz.

Measurement routes in the garden according to GPS data

A large number of objects can be found on profiles. Only another survey can show whether they are tunnels, cellars or some brick sewer lines.

This point anomaly was also found. Probably some bigger metal. Is it a treasure or just an old pot or perhaps a car wheel?
